"My Dad and I tossed a coin. If it were heads, he’d buy me a backpack, if it were tails, he’d get me a handbag. It was heads…" is the story of how Kylie's backpack came to be. Her reversible backpack was picked out by her dad. Interestingly, both sides are zebra-printed, and the current inner side is made of fuzzy lining.

Kylie carries a lot of notebooks with her. She explains that they each have different purposes. One, she says, is for doodles, the other for tutor, and the rest for notes. She also brings with her an earphone splitter. She explains this by saying "I don't have an iPod, so I share like "Hey, can I make kabit?'" The photo in her wallet is a picture of her younger brother back in Baguio.

When asked for the three things she would like to keep from her bag, Kylie immediately responds with "Chocolate! 'cause I'm hungry, then my wallet..." and then thinks about the last item for a few more seconds before finally deciding "My laptop!"

This particular bag is what Stephie often brings to school. Together with it, she usually carries a clear folder that contains her files and papers.

Aside from the odd sighting of the toothpaste, which according to her, she only got from a certain organization as a freebie, it was surprising to find an army knife set inside her bag. Stephie shares that she really brings the army knife set to school basically for protection purposes.

UAAP Notebook

As a courtside reporter, she says that a notebook is definitely a must-have for reporting. This one in particular she uses for scratch and it is where she writes down notes from dugouts and huddles during UAAP games.

Trivia: Stephie also reported on the first few games of Mapua before working on FEU.

Stephie's top 3 essentials:

1. Cell phone for easy contact with other people

2. iTouch - Because she no longer brings a laptop to school, her iTouch is very essential. It is what she uses to access Internet in campus and to check her email.

3. Wallet - Of course, money is a daily necessity.

When asked if she won't include the army knife set in the list, Stephie jokingly responds, "Okay lang, papalo ko nalang 'to (pertaining to the wallet) or something!" (laughs)

Yes, the dynamic duo were both bag raided.

It is indeed natural that once you bag raid Gico, you gotta bag raid his partner, Papz.

We asked this Blue Babble Battalion Captain to give us a sneak peek of his bag, and he willfully agrees. His bag is neat and small compared to his Babble-mate Gico, and he says he prefers it that way. Asked if he brings his Babble Bag with him, he says that he doesn't do so often, but if and when he does, he just puts a pillow so he could sleep in the Babble bench and the library comfortably.

Like most of his clothes, his bag is also Giordano.
When asked about this, he answers that it is the brand his mom buys ever since before.

Papz admits that he is actually OC, so everything in his bag was neatly arranged, and all had their proper places.

The 3 things he would want to keep with him:

1. Charger
2. My-Gel pen set. "Hindi colored ang notes ko, mahilig lang talaga ako sa colors. Mahilig rin ako sa My-Gel tapos lagi ko nawawala mga ballpens ko." As proof of this, he showed us that his blue and black pens are already missing. Also, he adds that girls are a fan of colors, so when they need colorful pens, he can readily offer his set, "Hi meron ka bang orange? Ha? Orange? Wait lang, ito o, orange! *smiles*"
3. Necklace, which was given to him by his girlfriend.

You know what's even more interesting?
We discovered different personalities in the bags of the two well-known jesters in the Babble.
Yet, despite Papz' orderly bag and Gico's "magulong bansa" bag, the two guys are definitely inseparable especially when it comes to their crazy antics during UAAP Men's Basketball games!
Awww! Well, as they say, the times change but the brotherhood remains!

his bag which was given by an aunt symbolizes something.

"Itong bag na to, nirerepresenta niya ang Pilipinas at ang gobyerno -- magulo!"

What's in the bag of the funny and famous Blue Babble Battalion member

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, he brings a towel and an extra t-shirt. Although the shirt is already a bit wrinkled, he says, "Malinis pa yan! Mabango pa yan! Amoy Zonrox pa rin yan!"

If Gico were to bring a small bag to school, and only 3 things could fit inside,

it would definitely include his laptop, wallet, and cellphone.

But that's not all!

As we were approaching the end of the bag raid, we found a quite interesting object inside his bag which, according to him, is a "manly thing". When asked what it was for, he jokingly says, "Nako, delikado! Baka hindi ako mapunta sa langit e!"

It was so amazing how the bag is able to hold so many stuff, but will they still fit when placed back?

Walking along the brick road or SEC walk, you’ve probably spotted Fr. Dacanay walking with the same old brown briefcase. Well, believe it or not, the bag's already 50 years old. He starts by saying, “This [bag] is probably older than your parents. You know this was given to me by my ninang when I was going to be grade 1, June 1960. Then I used it probably for one or two times. And then, hindi na. You think a grade one would like to bring this? Then my father kept it. Then I only took it back I think I was already a Jesuit”.

Firm. Strict. Organized.

That’s probably who Fr. A.N. Dacanay is to most Ateneans, whether they may be his students or not.

True enough, these characteristics very known of him are manifested in the contents of his bag.

If you're wondering what the one peso coin is doing in his bag, Father humorously said, "Napulot ko yan kanina! *LAUGHS*" The matches, on the other hand are for his cigar.

Myth: Priests bring their Bible wherever they go.

Father brings his own only when it is needed. Same thing goes for his wallet and other things; he brings them only when he goes out and feels like he would need them.

Unlike others who own tons of bags, Father is loyal to his brown bag. "Why buy pa another one diba? I already have a bag". Looks like Fr. Dacanay will not part ways with his beloved briefcase-type of bag soon.

At the end of the day, instead of just simply knowing the contents of Father’s bag,

more questions seem to have been raised.

Will he buy the same type of bag if ever his current bag dies on him?

Or better yet, will it ever die?

Most Ateneans know him probably as the professor who started the Battle of Bel Field. Some might see him as the professor who brings back storytelling in History. Indeed, he sounds big in his field, yet witness the irony on how this "big" man enjoys the littlest of things!

He also carries his students' grades but he didn't allow it to be photographed for confidentiality and ethics as well.

As mentioned in the quote earlier, Sir Dave's things are plain small, simple and FEW. All items found in his bag serve a purpose. One thing he has was there due to one instance wherein he got stuck in Bellarmine Hall (with a CTC class right after) during a very heavy rainfall. So lesson learned: bring an umbrella.

Each and every thing found in Sir Dave's bag are, no doubt, essentials for him. Despite this, he was still able to come up with his top 3 important things:
1. Laptop: He primarily uses it for his lectures BUT he brings it to play games.
2. Wallet: Obviously, it has his money. TRIVIA: the black wallet-sized thing Sir Dave wears around his neck everyday is his wallet. Instead of placing it in his pocket, he wears it everyday because his previous one got stolen.
3. Eyeglass: He just needs it! :)

See how all his things are dark in color, mostly black? No, he’s not an emo. It’s just that, “It goes with anything. Alangan naman mag-floral or Hello Kitty ako”, sir humorously mentioned.

When asked if we could take a look at her bag, she encouragingly tells us to go ahead and take her stuff out of her bag. She then jokingly adds, "Just don't steal ha." :)

Rica says she switches bag often since on Tuesdays and Thursdays she only has one class. When we caught her at JSEC, she was with her MWF school bag.

Rica carries around two cell phones, saying that one is for her Smart line and the other for her Sun. Also, bringing a check book around isn't something she does very often too, just on occasions na 'may babayaran ako', she says.

Most of the things inside Rica's bag are for school. She takes down her notes on her iPad when the teacher allows it, but other than that, she carries it around so she can surf the web to do research.

We only found a lip balm in her bag. She doesn't carry make-up with her, 'especially not in school' she explained 'I only brought the lip balm because I currently have dry lips'. This only proves her simplicity despite being a recognizable face in the campus.

"If you were to bring only three things, what would it be?"

Marlon seems to be one lucky man! A good number of the things inside his bag are actually gifts from people close to him.

Backpack - He shares that most of his bags are really of this type and this specific one was actually a present from his girlfriend for his birthday last year.

Hilarious signage with photo - Because Marlon is also part of the tennis varsity team of the school, his blockmate decided to give him this token for Chirstmas.

When asked if he actually has a separate bag specifically for the needs of his JSEC stall, this young entrepreneur replied by saying, "Wala naman, yung financial stuff kasama na rin diyan sa envelope."

While Marlon was picking out his top 3 things, he realizes that he wasn't able to include a pen on the list. And instead of actually adding it, he just jokingly said, "Sige okay lang, manghihiram na lang ako sa katabi ko." :))

First thing you'll notice in Sir Aris' bag is its size which is, to say, "all-purpose".

Typically bringing three bags before, Sir Aris started to bring just one huge backpack whenever he goes to school for convenience. But according to him, his type of bag really depends on what he'll be doing for class. "Kung maraming gagawin sa class, malaki bag ko. Kung magte-test lang sila, di na kailangan," he concluded.

Having the backpack with many pockets and cases keeps his things organized especially if he has more than one class for the day. He mentions, “Class ko, [Filipino] 11 and 14 so magkaiba pareho, magkaibang preparations.”

When asked what 3 things he'd bring if he has only a SMALL bag, he jokingly said,
"phone, wallet, keys, and iPod".

But kidding aside, the 3 things he'll most likely include would be (1) his cell phone, (2) his wallet, and (3) his iPod because he is usually alone and quoting him, "Ginagamit ko ito para magkaroon ng sariling mundo."

But how will he enter his house without his keys?
"Di bale, may tao naman dun eh." :))

Catching Janna on a Tuesday, she shares that she has only two classes for the day.
But usually, she says, "I just bring one notebook and everything's there.
I usually bring baby powder too 'cause it's really hot in school and I need to stay fresh."

When asked about her favorite make-up brand, Janna shares it's definitely MAC.

Despite the icky feeling everyone gets during hot days on campus,
this stunner totally won't mind leaving her make-up kit behind on loaded school days.

Aside from these, Janna's typical bag comprises of two more essentials:
"An iPod! 'cause I have long breaks. And sometimes a book." -- there we have it, the must-haves of a genuine Atenean beauty and brains!
